HELP!! By tomorrow I need to request a PDA/Cell Phone. I had an iPAQ years ago, but hardly used it. Things have changed and I now need one.
I know nothing about these and figure more than a few of you might. I've heard the Motorola Q9c is really nice and someone else recommended the Samsung Blackjack. My boss likes the Palm models.
Any tips or suggestions including which OS you prefer (Palm or Windows Mobile)?
I think my price is capped at $200, since work is paying for it. But I'd like to hear all options within reason.
Thanks
Oh, and which carrier to you recommend? I'm leaning towards Verizon at the moment since I have their cell coverage already.

My wife and I have the Blackjack II in like a cranberry color and we love them. They are small yet still easy to hang onto. You really need to see it in person to appreciate it.

I don't like the phones you mentioned because they are not touch screen phones. Sometimes you just want to go directly to what you want and not have to skip over a bunch of other stuff to get to it. If you are familiar with the iPaq and you liked it, you should get a touch screen phone.
I have a Samsung SCH-i760 through Verizon Wireless. It has a 2.8" screen, Bluetooth, WiFi, number pad on the front, a side slide out keyboard, and Windows Mobile 6.0. It has one of the best graphics processors for handling portrait to landscape screen switching (automatically when the keyboard is flipped out).
Some things I would improve: More RAM, it only has 64MB. Windows Mobile 6.1, Verizon says they are going to provide an upgrade, but they have been promising that for several months now and many believe it may never come. It is expensive, but you can get Verizon to knock the price down with a data package and a little dealing. Since I was a previous customer, spending $160 a month, they got it to me for free.
HTC also makes some really good Windows Mobile Phones that are usually branded under the providers' name. I had a Palm Treo 650 for over 2 years and now that I have a Windows Mobile, I realized how much the Palm software and Bluetooth sucks.

I have the Motorola Q9M with Windows Mobile.
I choose Windows Mobile due to it links seemless with Outlook.
If I did not have a choice to get the Q9M with my carrier, I would have got the Blackberry Pearl 8130.
They says it syncs directly to MS Outlook also.
I despise the palm phones, hate there software and anything about them.

Thanks, I like the things I've read about the Blackberry's.
At this point, despite my love in the past for touch screens, think I like the sound of the Motorola Q9M or the Blackberry (lots of good models I've read).
I'll stay away from Palm. My boss likes it, but I'd rather have the seamless connect with our Exchange server and my email/calendar.

Warning:
The Q9M got bad bad rating due to speed. I will agree with the "delay" in pressing button and there is a delay in them showing up. I have the issue when it is checking my email. BUT, it does EXACTLY what I want it to do. It works seemless with Vista and Outlook 2007.

The Blackjack II is slow accessing the internet even with the 3G network AT&T has other than that I like it because I don't really use it to access the internet that much.

One of the guys I work with has the Motorolla, so I think I'm going to experiment and go with the Blackberry. No one else has one where I work, but I've heard a lot of good things. I'll do some more research but I think that's what I'll try out if they'll go for it.
I think PC world rated the top 10, and Blackberry's got the top 3 spots.

OK, read more reviews on AT&T.
I think I've settled on the BlackBerry® Curve 8310 - Titanium. The best reviews and overall it sounds like what I'd like.

Well now I'm stuck again. I really would prefer to have a Windows Mobile device.
OK, this is it.
AT&T
BlackBerry® Curve 8310 - Titanium OR Motorola Q Global Smartphone
And bc I need this for work, and I want Windows Mobile and fast internet, I think the MotoQ is likely my best choice. So maybe I'll give BB a try in a few more years.
