hi, i need a little help for buying a new CPU. currently i have Pentium D 2.66 GHz, and I'm thinking about Intel core 2 duo E4500 2.20 GHz or Pentium dual core E 2160 1.80 GHz, i know core 2 duo is little expensive and dual core is affordable. but if there is any chance of price dropping, then i should wait. lotta people use these processors so please tell me about them. thanks.

You would see a increase with the E4500 or the E2160 over the Pentium D 805 that you have. The next guestion is what motherboard do you have, in order to make sure it will support either of the 2 CPU's you mentioned, chances are it will, just best to make sure.

The E4500 is about twice the price of the E2160 at the moment and anther thing to consider is the price of the Q6600 is dropping too. So you have the E2160 at around $67, the E4500 at around $127 and the Q6600 at around $199.
