I found that Qcheck is a great tool for testing exactly how fast your network is. Lots of nice features.

But yea, you'll probably get the most performance with that PCMCIA card. On the other hand, unless you're going to be doing lots of media streaming, a G adapter would be much cheaper and still fine for browsing the internet and moving files occasionally.

I am going with the WPC600N actually and being a dealer/reseller I get demo pricing on the first one so it will be a decent price.

I transferred a 4GB file and it stayed around 20% 48Mbps continually. So the rumor is false.

Thank you for checking. I was really hoping the rumor was true. Any way, you saved me a trip and Best Buy and open item return. smilenod

I did the transfer with a 802.11g and not the new card, since I don't have the new card yet, hopefully today I will have the N card for the laptop and then I will try transferring with all the wireless connected computers at once and see how it does.

Ok I did the transfers I was talking about and with the N card downloads were at little over 60% at 135Mbps
The other two G cards stayed at the 20% 48Mbps
