Hi Everyone,

I'm getting quite chewed up with Longhorn being a bit slow, even thought I have a 512MB, 2.5GHz System. I'm wanting to reinstall Windows XP Home, but when I insert the disk, the arrow that you need to install it with is greyed-out. anino
Can anyone help me? notworthy

If so You are cool and i'll be wootlaugh.

Thanks,

Ian

I think you need to boot from the CD...not just insert it. Put it in the CD_ROM and restart the computer...amke sure that your BIOS is set to boot from the CD first and see what happens.

Hi,

I tried booting it from the CD, but when I got it to install, it told me to install a full version of Windows XP or earlier versions.

Ah...you have the Upgrade Version...what you need is a copy of a previous version of Windows to prove that you are legally allowed to use your version. There should be an option to put a Win98(or other) CD in so that the isntallation program can look at it. You may have to point it to the Win98 directory on the CD.
