I have a Problem with Longhorn. If I turn on my Computer Longhorn says "Please type CTRL - ALT - DEL".

So I press "STRG - ALT - ENTF" (I'm from Austria), but nothing happens.

What should I do? Thx for help.

question Maybe if you gave us a little bit more information, we should be able to help you.

Such as, is this the first time you installed LH and you can't get past the frozen login screen? Or have you been able to login with LH in the past and this just suddenly happened on a reboot? Does this happen when you reboot into safemode (F8)?

If not, I would recommend doing a reboot into safemode (F8), and then tinker around with the user accounts (in control panel). Try adding adding another user (with no password) other than the built-in administrator account. And try booting into Longhorn again.

This all sounds very familiar, because I have had Longhorn do the 'frozen' logon screen happen to me too. Where it says CTRL-ALT-DEL to begin, you press them, and the screen goes blank, and then back to the same screen. Either way, get back to us with more information from where you are now.

Boot into safe mode then go to the control panel then administrative tools then local security policy.
In the tree on the left go to 'local policies-security options'
change the 'Interactive login: Do not require ctrl+alt+delete to enabled

This should help.

PS. sorry about the picture size

Dang, that would have helped me the first time I booted up Longhorn! I just got rid of it by giving a new admin user account without a password. Oh well, where where you when I needed that? lol.
