I'm sure i'm putting this in the wrong area guys and i'm sorry if it is. FUlly installed with 4051...so far so good. The biggest problem i've got so far is that i cannot use my ADSL modem with it. It will not even power up with Longhorn and the install CD will not install onto the unsupported OS. My modem is Allied Telesyn AT-AR210 and i've looked around the net to no avail. Cheerz if anyone can help. Sorry if this is all just wrong

If it all possible, you would be much, much better off if you could swap that USB modem in for an ethernet modem.

have you tried installing this driver, using 2000/xp compatiblity trick,it works in most cases.

copy your driver to a folder and right click, move to property and compatiblity and OK your way out and try to see if works

i'll try that thanks. the problem is that it has associated programs with it such as a dsl monitor required to boot before allowing connection. I can't extract it without the setup running through. the setup wont run through due to incompatible os. i have setup the modem with the drivers though and it goes in ok. just wont power up etc.

Michaelangels.......cracking. OK i got it sorted and it was probably a noob mistake. I'll still write up what i did though as i'm sure other noobs will find it helpful too. I explored the installation CD and foudn the setup file and right clicked........down to properties.....clicked on 'Other Properties' and selected 'Compatibility'. My default was Win95 and so i changed it to XP. Woohoo.. Started the Setup file and now im 'In And Working' as they say. Cheerz (p.s was the facility available in XP..i never saw it)
