Q1: OS SELECTING
Here are my initial conditions on install:
HDD splitted into 4 logical drives.
First (aka C:) contains Win98SE installed. Size is ~2 Gb
Second (aka D:) is empty and meant for LH to be setup on it. Size is ~9 Gb
Rest are misc filled, so I skip it...
So, during setup process I select my D: disk as the target one. Setup comes
flawlessly. Till the moment everything is OK. But then, after being restarted,
I see that I can't boot into my second OS (Win98SE, as I said) nomore!!!
d*mn, but I need it!
HOW TO MAKE BOOT OS SELECTING AND BOOTING WORK???
Q2: LONG-TIME-TO-WAIT TASKBAR INIT ON LOADING
Actually this is it. While loading at stattup, after all the gui is already up,
the taskbar, as well as desktop icons, still remains functionless for about
2 or 3 minutes. It's much annoying.
HOW TO SPEEDUP INIT OF ALL FULL GUI PARTS AT SARTUP???
Thnx for any help, thoughts and suggestions. I guess someone come across
same problems, so any solution will be helpfull.

Hvae you tried RegScrubXP. Excellent program. It will get rid of all the unwanted crap on the install. It really speeds things up. Also using the Misc menu and running some of those tweaks improves the install. Theres my tuppence worth

Yeah, i'm not too sure about about changing the boot.ini file (i'm sure its the boot.ini) but you can use Partition Magic to make a os boot menu. Download from here http://www.powerquest.com/partitionmagic/ download Shareaza and the Partition Magic from the link above. Thats the hard way round but i'm sure someone on here can tell you how to change your os boot menu.

start W98 - open boot.ini in text editor (attrib -h if no find) - manually add the new os to the list of boot options - save, exit and reboot. your bootloader should now give you the option.

you can also go to start, run, and type msconfig and go to the startup tab. Then uncheck all the program that is not a nessecity, and reboot your computer.
