Windows user here....

I received a few files from a friend's FTP server... Mac Programs, so I thought. I burned these onto a cd-rom, and gave it to a friend.

He is using an I-Mac... and, when he attempted to install these programs (one, specifically for Mac that I know of - Toast)... he was unable to do so. The installation files were .exe format - unable to perform this task under Mac's OS.

Are there any Mac users out there who could possibly steer me in the right direction, or suggest a software that could aid in cross-platform support?

Thanks, guys.

A stab in the dark here, perhaps these are self extracting archives. Try to unzip them in Windows, then burn the extracted files to CD, see if that works. Just a guess, though.

It worked.

They were self-extracting archives... of a type which I have not seen before.

Nevertheless, your suggestion worked.

Thanks to you... and score another brownie point for this site... a bountiful source of information and helpful people.

Glad my hunch worked out for ya! Just a shame you had to waste a CD.
