I read this topic and just had to comment.

I too have PC4000 (of the lovely Corsair Pro variety) and I just wanted to point out that to get full benifit of such quality components, you're gonna have to look at overclocking. Not massively, just a little, to gain a little over the rest. So I have a P4 2.8 800fsb cpu, which is running at 3.2Ghz. And of course with that comes increased memory speeds, which is why we spend so much on this kind of RAM. Of course there's PC4400 now BTW.... Overall, the RAM and CPU are running around 20% quicker- and are usually ever only at 40 degrees temp, with no major cooling installed- just the case fans (see below) and a coolermaster heat sink.

In addition, I can highly recommend the best upgrade ever......

Out of everything I have ever tweaked/replaced/put on steriods, nothing comes close to upgrading to SATA RAID 0. So thats 2 SATA drives acting as one drive. I use 2 WD raptors for this and the performance increase is incredible over my last machine (very similar specs but 1gb of 'value' RAM and a ATA maxtor disk, all running at 333, (PC2700)). Helps if your mobo supports this natively (I have a lanparty 875pro) however you can get a controller card for existing setups.

Oh and to make your investment look great, get a nice case from Thermaltake (the new V series is lurvly ). drool
