heard a little bit about this OS but would like to hear views from all sources. Any tips for trialling the OS are appreciated.

Good Question... it's unlocked now.

To answer the question.

Lindows is a lot like Windows. Only it's built on the Linux Kernal, which is a differant type of Operating System. Lindows can run Windows applications, and looks a lot like Windows because it's been visually rebuilt to look that way and run those programs. Deep down it's very very differant. Typically it's much more stable, but harder to use for the average PC user. It's very basic... especially pure Linux. I hope this helps.

You can learn more about Lindows at their website, www.Lindows.com

It's alright. I unlocked it really quick. It left the "move" symbol over there... but it actually brings you here when you click it.

It's another nifty little part of the forum.

rumour has it that I can run Windows programs under this OS and that would be ideal for me as I find Windows extremely unstable.I know I am still trying to come to grips with any computer but would like to learn different ways to Windows as I have not had a great deal of success with it.I am currently running XP on FAT32 and while it is the stablest Windows that I have ever run i feel I need to broaden my horizons and branch into other OS's.
