I have my system set up as follows now.
1st IDE big hd and second boot cdrom
2nd IDE another HD and dvdrwcdrw

I want it set up as follows...
1st IDE both HD's
2nd IDE both cd drives

If I change everything and reboot, my system will not start correct? So how do I do, it to NOT have to reinstall everything..or can I? confused

It really should matter as long as your bios can auto detect all your hardware and no, you shouldn’t have to reinstall anything.

If you have to manually set your bios, make sure you have the master/slave jumper set in the correct position.

na shut pc down....

1. put both hardrives one 1st ide .. big one with your os on as master and the other as slave..

2. put both cds on 2nd ide .. and same as above one as master and the other has slave .. but it might be beter if you put your writer as master and cdrom as slave..

then boot up go into bios and auto detect .. then save and boot up proply..
you shouldnt have any probs
