computer freezes

I left my computer on all afternoon and when i returned, screen was black, and start button on unit was flashing. I do not have it set for any hibernation, etc. The only way I could do anything was turn power bar off. Would appreciate any help. Thanks

was you downloading? I somethimes get this its someting to do with lack of memory, try getting more. That worked for me
