It came with the following setup from Dell:

Dimension XPS 8250

P4 2.4
256 Rambus
Radeon 9700

I need some help on this one.

What is it doing or not doing? Have you made any changes to your CMOS since you got it?

with a little more info we might be able to help you better.

on a sidenote, in one of my e-mails from dell support a little while ago, anything you do to your computer after it arrives, such as installing new hardware/software, may have a negative effect on your computer. dells are tested only to perform with what comes with them. who buys a computer and doesn't do anything to it after they get it anymore?

i have a dell precision that i changed the vid card in to a 9800 pro and its running like a champ the vid card shouldnt have any negative effect on boot as long as you unistall your previous vid card drivers then install the new ones after a reboot.

Hi!

First, radeon 9700 had some power issue. I think AIW is more power hunger thant the non aiw ones. Because the power needed for booting a computer is a way much stressful for the power supply, some boot-up from a too big charge on the power supply causes him to short. Try boot the computer, wait like 5 sec ( all things are powered-up, like HD, and else, ) and the hit reset, It should work. If not, your problem is'nt the power needed. If it's that, search the web, some guys have made a `manual radeon 9700 boot-up switch`. So they boot their computer and after like 5 sec, they boot their radeon.

Hope it help!
