Frustrated that you can't use the Group Policy Editor in Windows XP Home Edition? Well, here's a rather helpful page that tells you which registry entries in XP Home correspond to which Group Policy Editor entries in XP Pro. However, it only includes the User Configuration entries, not the Computer Configuration ones.
Group Policy Settings List, User configuration
Warning, manually editing the Windows Registry can be dangerous and could render you machine unusable. Only attempt to alter the settings in the Registry if your totally sure of what you are doing!

If you want to unistall MSN Messenger completely, in the run box type in c:\windows\inf\sysoc.inf and click Okay.
When the inf file opens, look for this line: msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7
Remove the hide, leaving the commas so that the line looks like this: msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,,7
Save and exit.
Open Add or Remove Programs in the control panel and then click on Add/Remove Windows Components.
Uncheck both instances of messenger and click next and then finish.
You're done. Messenger will never bother you again.

OK nutty try this and let me know, should shave about 2 seconds off your boot up time.
Create a batch file by doing the following:
1) Open notepad and enter the following lines:
RD /S /q "C:\Documents and Settings\"UserName without quotes"\Local Settings\History"
RD /S /q "C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Local Settings\History"
RD /S /q "D:\Temp\" <--"Deletes temp folder, type in the location of your temp folder"
2) Save the file and then rename it something like deltemp.bat
3) Now click Start, Run and type in regedit --->Computer Configuration --->Windows Settings --->Scripts and double click on Shutdown --->Click Add and find the batch file you created and press ok to set the script |
I have bot been able to find this. Can you give a little more detail. I went into regedit but I could not find comp config

Right click to send to?............anywhere you want? yep....
Oldie but a goodie....
If you’re like me and use the Send To functions a lot and want the Any Folder option, do the following. Down MS PowerToy for Win 95 (can be found on MS site or other download sites on the net). Unzip it in the folder of your choice. Locate the Sendtox.inf and right click it. Click on install. Close the windows that open. The right click menu Send To will now have the send to Any Folder along with some other options. To remove the unwanted options open the Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel. Highlight Send to Extensions PowerToy and click the Remove button. You can now uncheck the options you don't want. To save a little space on your H/D delete the files you unzipped in the beginning as you will no longer need them. Enjoy this add functionality.

This link is not valid. Is there another?

I'm not sure if that power toy is still available, but MS has a new suite of power toys that you can find here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
I find the Tweak UI power toy to be quite useful. You can do all kinds of things you wouldn't normally be able to do without it.
I think it might be easier to change the Send to thing in your C:\Documents and Settings\user name\SendTo folder. You can add things there, but you can't delete things like Local Disk C: or your floppy drive. You might have been able to with that powertoy, but I'm not sure.

It shouldn't read regedit, the actual application used to set this is the Group Policy editor. Type gpedit.msc from the Run dialogue box to find these settings.

Here's a link to some excellent information on another Forums site.
