There is probably a lot of repeats here... but I just made my own registry.reg file and thought I should share it.. its kinda long...

Open notepad,, copy everything in the CODE box and paste it into notepad. SAve as SOMENAME.REG (make sure to cange the lower selction from text file to all files)

save and close
then just double click the file or right click-->Merge

If you there is something you dont want done... just delete those files before saving it

have fun!

I'll have to disagree with Neuromancer on at least a couple of tweaks. I don't recommend turning off System Restore, especially when you're running all those registry tweaks at one time. Also, I know for a fact that those broadband tweaks aren't good for ALL broadband services. An MTU of 1500 won't work for most DSL connections, as they like 1492. Also that TCP Window size is much too small, I've tried it and it causes too many retransmissions, only using about 80% of the bandwidth.

Good points glad someone broughtthat up as I completely forgot

Yeah... this is what I used for my PC I am on cable (wirelessly connected) This is an old PC so I disabled somethings that I dont really use that often. I dont recommend disable error reporting and such either (I think I have it disabled in the above list) but when I have messenger and opera running, an ew window popping up can cause a system hang LOL

(need to look into an older version of messenger I suppose or dare I say it.... windows messenger )

Sys restore is great and I dont recommend disabling it. I did however because of a lack of a modern computer Small hard drive already pretty full and so on.

About the TCP window size... what is a good aperature for that? I personally have no clue.
