HTML would work using javascript. However, CGI (if possible) would probally be easier.

Finally, you could just make a stand-alone program using basic/vb/c++ and distruute that.

Have you ever thought of using php scripting? There are quite a few pre-compiled php scripts that will suit you need and most are free.

Yes, this is a perfect task for PHP. You could write it yourself or use one of the many pre-written (and free) quiz/testing scripts.

Using JavaScript would work, but anyone who knew a little bit about it (you are giving this test to web coders) would be able to get the right answers just by viewing the code that is used for grading.

You should try using ASP & VBscript. With VBscript you can easily keep track of the scores & could even offer users a chance to save there score using access 2000 or SQL database.

& display the top 10 scores.

Anyway, if you need help in any web language or even an example of a HTML test go to:

If you want Javascript, it'll mean you have to move your thinking later on if you want to program in C#. There are already enough Javascript examples if you google it though.

In my opinion best choice is PHP / MySql solution.

Simple to write the code and best result.

Look for something in www.hotscripts.com,

Yes, but others may have not. In addition, if you have found a solution it would be advisable to post the route you took.
