A new look at climate conditions 55 million years ago shows that the Earth is more sensitive to small changes than previously believed.

This finding suggests that the Earth's response to current atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide, higher than they have been in 430,000 years and rising, will be more like a high-strung poodle than a laid-back hound dog.

Carbon dioxide, the major greenhouse gas, is currently found in the atmosphere in a concentration of 379 parts per million, and is almost certain to reach 540 ppm sometime in the next 40 to 50 years, according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. That's about double the pre-industrial level of CO2, but without major changes in energy technology, CO2 levels could reach 800 to 1,000 ppm before the end of the century, according to the report.

I have heard so many stories from the Scientific community on this issue, both good, and bad. BUT, one thing is definate, there are TWO huge holes in our atmosphere. They can't PROVE why they are there, so, maybe they should do more studies on what happens when the atmosphere is gone, or better yet, how to repair it. I personally believe it is caused by Nuclear Testing, and believe that is why the Super Nations scrambled around to stop "above ground" nuclear testing. Now I wonder what they are doing to the Earth BELOW GROUND!!!

Yeah thank God I don't know if I could take another 6 Degrees. Especially today with it in the low 40's with a cold drizzle.
Do you remember last year when Al Gore made a speech in New York on gobal warming on one of the coldest days in New York in history. That was funny. It's going to be so warm that if you go outside you could get frostbite.

Do you have any idea what 6 degrees does worldwide?

Each global increase of 1 degree Celsius (1.8 degrees Fahrenheit) around the world will reduce grain yields like rice and wheat, as well as corn, by at least 10 percent.

10%!!!!!!

3 degrees C alone would result in nearly a 54% reduction in food from corn and wheat. If you think they are alternatives, like meat, consider what cows and other animals like poultry feed on.

You may not have to worry... but think about the generation after you.

Like I said in like 200 years it would be 6 degrees warmer. And does any one think it could be just natural flucuations in temperature.

Please do a little reading up on Geology and Climatology. This is already affecting us today in many ways you may not be aware. Also, "Global Warming" doesn't just mean the Earth gets warm. It can also mean that winters are colder and storms are more severe, which is exactly what has already been happening. Remember all the hurricanes we just had?

Climate change affects starvation in the world. Whether we eat or not. Deserts can expand and move. Forests can diminish. Species can become extinct. New species may emerge. Species will move as habitats change. Maybe killer bees will be all over the US. New diseases may emerge. Existing ones may worsen. Economies will be affected. Natural disasters may eat up our resources. This is already happening. Earthquakes in California, a volcano in Washington, hurricanes, tornadoes, typhoons, snowstorms, rainfall...all are a product of Geology and climate. Any slight change in that Geology or climate can affect all the above.
