Webhost Jargon

Lets begin with some regular used terms in the webhosting world:

FTP - File Transfer Protocol. This is the service for transferring files (also the files for your website (the .html or .htm) to your webhost. Some webhosts offer FTP, others don't.
PHP - A server-side scripting language, used to generate dynamic HTML on your websites.
MySQL - Open Source software for a database management system. This can be used for forums, and other databases on the net. Also PHP can use this software to make a dynamic website.
Domain name - This is a text name card for a computer IP address. For Pro-Networks this is http://www.pronetworks.org. You can get a free Top Level Domain (TLD) on Dot.tk which ends with this: .tk . Some other TLDs are .com .net and .org
Actually .tk is a ccTLD (CountryCodeTopLevelDomain)
HTTPS - (Hypertext Transfer Protocol over Secure Socket Layer, or HTTP over SSL) is a Web protocol, developed by Netscape, built into browsers, that encrypts and decrypts user page requests as well as the pages that are returned by the Web server. HTTPS is the use of Secure Socket Layer (SSL) as a sub-layer under its regular HTTP application layering. (HTTPS uses port 443 instead of HTTP port 80 in its interactions with the lower layer, TCP/IP.)
Database - A database is a collection of information organized in such a way that a computer program can quickly select desired pieces of data. Relational databases are organized by fields, records, and tables. A field is a single piece of information; a record is one complete set of fields; and a table is a collection of records. A CMS generally uses a relational database as its content repository. Storing content in fields rather than static pages makes that content appropriate for dynamic delivery.

This is who I use it is pretty good for being free. Just a tiny ad at the top of the page. I don't think they have many restrictions in the service either. I am pleased so far.

Here it is 100WebSpace

As far as I can tell that place is only a directory of free web hosts and they don't have hosting them selves.

Yes I have, once you have a good host, you will see it dissapears or resets its databases, and you will lose your account and files. Nevertheless it is a great challenge to find a great webhost everytime! smilenod
