Windows Vista RTM Lab Session 11 (FINAL) --

Our final session of this Windows Vista RTM Lab covers the Microsoft Office System, more commonly known as Office 2007. Jared Andersen, PowerPoint Product Manager, closed out our two days of presentations. Through the Customer Improvement Program, MS has collected over 1 billion data sessions -- 1.8 million sessions per day. This allows them to see which commands people use most often. Much research went into determining how people use applications like Outlook.

A multitude of improvements have been made to the templates, colors, effects, fonts, and layouts available for PowerPoint. The same applies to other applications in Office like Excel and Word.

Office 2007 is definitely a major step up from 2003, and if you haven't used it yet, you'll definitely enjoy the experience.

My vote is still out on Office 2007. I've used it for over a month now and I still don't really like the interface. What I can't understand, is why they dropped scanner support in it. I discovered a backdoor approach to using the scanner, but it's not the best method andis one of the things that may eventually force me back to 2003.
