Wooo get it now!
http://www.real.com/

For the web downloading thing in the real player go to
Tools - Preferences - Download & Recording
And I noticed that the download thing doesn't work in the real player browser but it does in FireFox and IE. When you mouse over the video and little thing should pop up next to the title
thumbsup

I'm happy about this, as there are many many sites out there streaming content osing RP, and unlike many people I have never had any problems with RP breaking my Windows lol whistle

Are they better now about installing crap on your PC you don't need? They used to be horrible about that.

The only thing extra I got was a link to their free games and music, no other crap installed, oh BTW this was not the beta that I have installed. I installed this for other reasons than to try the beta and predates this thread.

Does this offer a plugin to play MP3s, MPGs, etc in browers like Firefox? I'm sick of Quicktime being the only plugin to play those extensions and I REFUSE to let quicktime touch my comptuer. For now I'm having to deal with using an extension which lets me click play on media in a web page and open it in Windows so I don't get the annoying "Install missing plugins..." bar.

WMP's firefox plugin works for their proprietary formats, but not others like MP3s.

I don't think so, judging by the fact I can't use Firefox when wanting to record a video to RealPlayer but have to switch to IE. There is a codec pack for RealPlayer that plays any format I've yet come across including MP3 but again there's no RealPlayer plug-in for on-screen recording in Firefox that I can find.

If you come across one I'd be very interested because RealPlayer is one of the most versatile players out there...way more advanced than WMP smilenod
