Hurray, it seems to be working, touch wood! wootlaugh wootlaugh wootlaugh wootlaugh wootlaugh wootlaugh wootlaugh wootlaugh wootlaugh wootlaugh wootlaugh wootlaugh wootlaugh wootlaugh wootlaugh wootlaugh

I have put the ntldr and ntdetect files in the root drives of both the Vista and XP drives and that seems to have done the job! I searched for the boot.ini file but that was nowhere to be seen so I dont know about that!

One last possibly stupid question, I have VBP installed on both the XP drive and the Vista drive but I did all the editing in the Vista drive so can I uninstall it of the XP drive or would you suggest to leave it?

Thanks for the help everyone! thumbsup notworthy

I would suggest you leave it on both OS's, but remember this; USE CAUTION when "tinkering" with drive letters, as Vista letters the drive one way, and XP may letter them another way. Both are correct, so don't think you need to go changing drive letters in one OS becuase the other OS says they are another way.

Thanks for the words of caution! smilenod

Fortunately the C: drive is called Vista both in XP and Vista whereas it wasnt before! Changing the name of the drive should be all right though shouldnt it?

Yes, you can change descriptions of the drive all day long, but don't mess with the assigned lettering schema..... and congrads on gettting it working!
