The fall is usually(USUALLY, I stress) not that bad, its the 15-20 guys behind you that run right over you, thats what hurts. LOL (speaking from personal experience wink not in a velodrome, never ridden track. )

Yeah, from motorcycling I know it's not coming off that hurts, but the impact of a sudden stop at speed against something hard and sharp. That breaks bones and tears flesh. Coming off at speed one usually (hopefully) just slides smilenod

Oh ya motor bikes, lot more speed, lot more weight behind the (bike) = potential of LOTS more damage. I have been watching this show on the history channel SHOCKING 'Something' Videos' cant remember the actual name, but its all accidents people survive, this dude trying to set a land speed record wrecks his bike (twice actually) first time in a dry lake bed in Las Vegas and the next time in Calif., well point his he wiped out TWICE at 200 MPH, and lived to tell about it, man it was some fantastic video, first time he tried to jump off when the bike got squirrelly, and his leg got hung, he was dragged over a mile at 200 mph, wore thru his helmet and leathers. He walked away with minor road rash.
The one in Calif, I think left him in the hospital for like 6 months, much worse. Bike just came apart under him, he disappeared in a cloud of smoke and parts, it was a freaking miracle he survived.
Sorry I ramble, was looking for a video of what I was telling you about, but couldn't find one, and speaking of bikes, I need to get to my Friday afternoon job, lol.
Later wave
