Jackson Browne's music was a staple of our radio station. I played his songs on the college radio station when I first became a DJ and for the next 18 years in my professional radio career. Our station (WMMR in Philadelphia) is credited with being the first to introduce his music to America.

I'm actually partial to his middle period, after his folksy early days. He did an album with Bruce Springsteen's producer Jon Landau in 1976 (The Pretender), at the time of Bruce's Born to Run, and it had a very similar sound. It gave us the title track, The Fuse, and Here Come Those Tears Again, a 3:35 gem that still knocks me out every time I hear it.

Running on Empty followed that one.

==========

EDIT: Isn't YouTube wonderful?

The new Jonas Brothers CD. Yes, it is a really good rock album, image and fan base aside. They are like Elvis Costello meets Cheap Trick meets All-American Rejects. Great stuff.
