JazzMan,
Thanks for the tune.
It may not be quite your cup of tea but I know you appreciate a well played guitar, that much is obvious so here's my offering for this evening.
A little bit of my youth, nearly had a 'heart attack' when this started to happen the night some friends and I were in London.
Don't know much about the guy with the beard but he played DS stuff and his own with them as his backing band
Anyway, enjoy, (I know I did!!!)

I love Dire Straits, great band when the wasteland of crap was propagating at the time! One of the reasons I moved to jazz. Hahaha@ who the bearded guy is! Seriously?
OK, I'll leave you with Sultans of Swing. I'll be back later but I have to make supper first as I'm running on fumes right now.

Keeping in theme with the above post, here is someone I just found that does real justice to Robert Johnson's Mississippi Delta Blues, where much of the British invasion came from and which has shaped most of todays rock&roll and blues into what it is today. BTW, it's darn rare to see a woman playing fantastic blues guitar along with a great voice. I hope you enjoy this.
| Quote: |
| Considered by some to be the "Grandfather of Rock 'n' Roll", his vocal phrasing, original songs, and guitar style have influenced a broad range of musicians, including John Fogerty, Bob Dylan, Johnny Winter, Jimi Hendrix, The Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin, The Allman Brothers Band, The Rolling Stones, Paul Butterfield, The Band, Neil Young, Warren Zevon, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Robert Palmer and Eric Clapton, who called Johnson "the most important blues musician who ever lived".[1] He was also ranked fifth in Rolling Stone's list of 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. |
So, with no more verbiage from me, here she is with a few friends following with their take:
Rory Block-Cross Road Blues
Robert Johnson- Cross Roads
Eric Clapton-Crossrods
Cream-Crossroads

OK, and now for something completely different. John Zorn, Klezmer/jazz/ whatever! Darn good though if one likes this. Mainly free jazz with a Klezmer theme. I warned ya'll! Click at your own risk.
