I have been looking around for a really great keyboard for a while now. I use a laptop at work constantly and I never use anything but the laptop keyboard so I am getting used to the short key stroke and it is getting harder for me to use a regular keyboard with such a long key stroke. Both of the keyboards I use at home have a long key stroke and I would like to replace them with something that has a key stroke as small as a laptop.

Trick is, it can't be too expensive. $160 for a keyboard, are you kidding me?!? Maybe for some people, but I would rather spend that money on speakers or a video card. Since I am buying 2, $40 or less each would be nice.

Also:
- USB, not PS/2
- Wired, I have too many wireless things in my house right now (wireless remote - 47MHz, baby monitor - 900MHz, cordless phone - 1.9GHz, Bluetooth - 2.4GHz, 802.11g Wifi - 2.4GHz).
- Want to buy the keyboard separate, not bundled with a mouse. I have good mice (mouses?) already and I don't care for the added expense.

Let me know if you have any suggestions, TIA!

I was looking at that keyboard, but since I am buying 2, it is too expensive. I don't need something that fancy.

I like Logitech keyboards so I would say any of them are a great keyboard. I have several of the wireless comfort duo's.

WOOT!

they are waterproof, i have spilt, Beer, milk, water, soda, and coffee on mine and just a quit cleaning to make the keys not sticky and it works perfectly.

I went to Office Max during lunch and looked at keyboards. I saw the Logitech that I wanted and also saw the Microsoft 3000. I thought about getting the Logitech, but I like the setup of the Microsoft Insert, Delete, etc. keys.

The keyboard is very nice and the keys do feel like I am using my laptop. Overall I am very happy and will be putting it through the paces to see if it will stay my next keyboard.

Thanks for the suggestions. It seems that everyone wanted to get me into a gaming keyboard, not realizing how cheap I am about keyboards. lol

I think Logitech and Microsoft are both reliable, most of them are not that expensive if you don't want that super one. Recently there is a up to 50% off on Microsoft Keyboards & Mice promotion from staples. You can have a look there.
