I'm trying to uninstall Office 2007 off my work PC as it has stopped working - it opens but none of the features work. I am guessing it is an unlicensed version.
Problem is I can't uninstall it as it comes up with an error message saying "Setup cannot continue because a required file is either corrupted or not available. (etc)"
I have tried using the Microsoft Windows Installer Clean Up Wizard, but this has had no effect.
Can anyone help?
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks guys

My only suggestions are either manually deleting the files related to Office and then using a Registry cleaner to remove the orphaned keys or using the Office 2007 media to reinstall/repair it and then try removing it again.

I had a similar issue with Office 2000 and, in the end, I had the manually remove everything! Not fun!

Somehow the uninstaller part of the program has gotten corrupted and Dan is right it will be a tedious affair to get rid of it manually.
Here is a uninstaller program that may work; http://www.download.com/Easy-Uninstaller/3000-2096_4-10286873.html?cdlPid=10388208

Well I tried using the Easy Uninstaller, but sadly it did not owrk, it just launched the Office Uninstaller, which gave me the usual error message!
Looks like I'm going to have to do it manually.. any tips on how to do so? Also, will I be able to install an official copy of Word after manually removing it?

The biggest amount of files are going to be in Program files\Microsoft Office folder
I would just right click and delete the whole folder

What is the exact name of the Office program you have?

And yes you should be able to install a legal copy of Word when you get done without a hitch

The main files for Office are usually stored in the "Microsoft Office" folder in the Program Files directory. There are others that are stored in "Program Files\Common Files" as well as various ones dotted throughout the Windows system directories. There's also the installer reference files stored in a hidden folder under the Windows directory called "Installer". Plus the ones created that live in hidden folders under the Users (Documents and Settings) folders. It's a real pain to trace them all but you shouldn't have to get rid of everything.

Simply remove the folders from within Program Files and Common Files (only the Office directories from under Common Files, not the Common Files directory itself!!) You can get rid of the ones from within the user profiles folders, too, if you like. Once you've got rid of the directories, download and run CCleaner. Run the program, add Start Menu Shortcuts and Desktop Shortcuts to the list on the left hand side, Analyse and then Run Cleaner. Then click on the Registry option and Scan for Issues. Make sure you take a Backup of the registry keys when prompted and tell CCleaner to fix all issues. You may need to do this more than once until there are no more issues reported. Then reboot the machine, to be on the safe side and to ensure any locked registry keys are reloaded.

This should have removed the majority of references to the old Office installation from the machine. You shouldn't have any problems then installing Word.
