Yesterday I had to go into a small dirty industrial city to get my chainsaw serviced. I was told the service would take about an hour ("I'm going to wait for it" kinda gets things done fairly fast...sometimes), and after walking around a bit I got a bottle of still water and coke. I don't buy bottled water unless I have to because some of it really sucks and the plastic bottle uses a lot of oil and carbon emissions to make right? My fault because I forgot to fill the water bottle I keep in the car before I left.
Then I went to where I parked in a vacant demolition lot, to pour the water into a bowl I keep in the trunk for the poop dog and while there saw my first swallow of the season swooping over some rubble and a half demolished wall. Weird setting to see a swallow and it seems a bit early for the swallows to be back, but we've had 4 or 5 days of pleasantly warm weather...also a bit early I think but anyway.
