There is another line in the .ini file that isn't needed too so I removed in the following boot.ini examples

I am sorry for the confusion, if you want to use the new install of windows make your boot.ini look like this

timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOW
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOW="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

And if you want to use the old windows it should look like this

timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

The only difference is the (S) at the end of windows which points to the different windows folders

First just make the correction to the boot.ini file and try it as is for a while to make sure it is going to work before you delete the Windows folder of the old install
