I've read about this and the one story on it is likely right. They said that it is basically a way for the campaign to get your contact information for in the future, like a month or two down the road. Honestly, I can wait 3 hours or however long it takes me to see new news as you know that as soon as either candidate makes an announcement for their choice, it's going to be all over the place and a top story pretty much everywhere, so how are you not going to know almost as soon as it happens?

I receive political email already, and I never gave any of them my email address, so I am sure they are employing tactics (SPAM) that they are suppose to be fighting against on our behalf, so I won't mind getting one from the candidate that I support, as a matter of fact it will be refreshing.
