Im gonna MAKE THEM give it to me...dagnabbit

So now I'm hosed - no drivers for XP for networking and other devices and I can't boot into Vista either because I have no non-OEM restore style disk with which to do so...hmmm I think I need to make a new friend <grin>

I'm gonna end up upgrading Vista anyway, aren't I LOL

I also have an HP with Vista pre-installed and no Vista DVD whatsoever. I partitioned the D: for XP but when I go to install XP it only shows C: available. And I do not want to overwrite anything by installing XP on the C: so how do I go about keeping both OS?

Not only do you need to partition the drive but you need to format it and assign a drive letter. You should also have that option within the XP installation. XP should show unpartitioned or un allocated space. Once you allocate it then it should show a drive letter
