| Geez, the basketball game between the US and China really worries me as the US is up by 35 points ATM in the 4th, they're scoring at will. Go Lietuva Go! |
If only China had more than one Yao Ming.

And Phelps has won yet another gold medal in a very, very close race. I haven't been able to watch the Olympics that much, but there have been some really amazing races from what I have seen.

There are no words. He was behind the entire race. In fact, he was 7th (2nd to last) going into the turn before the finish.
He never led at all. As the two swimmers reached the wall, his hands were much farther back. Even the people in the venue (including his coach and mother) thought he ended up in 2nd. He won by 1/100th of a second -- the length of a fingernail, as it was described, literally. It cannot be any closer without being a tie.

The replays make it look like the other guy actually started to touch the wall first but didn't do so hard enough to trip the sensors before Phelps did. Really an amazing race.

There was actually a protest filed. All the swimming officials and Olympics officials and Omega people got together and reviewed all different angles along with the sensors and decided that Phelps just touched the wall first. They had other cameras that the public didn't see which go much closer down to their hands at very high speeds so they can watch in more than 100ths of seconds, since normal TV cameras can't even catch it that fast. The sensors are very sensitive.

Wow, we just got 3 medals today, 2 in women's wrestling, gold and bronze and one silveri n mens pairs rowing. Finally! I wonder if someone will best our Donovan Bailey's world record in the 100m dash that has stood since 1996. He seems to think that it will be broken by this field of sprinters. We'll know in 12 minutes.
EDIT: Jeez, Bolt from Jamaica just blew the record away at 9.69 as he even let up at the end to showboat a bit, he could have even been faster!

It's too bad that Lithuania lost to Spain in a hard fought game. I guess it's 'Go Espana, Go'!

I don't think its gonna be quite the game expected.
This U.S. team has pretty much crushed all of its competition.
I believe last time Spain played the U.S. it was once again a U.S. blowout victory. I'm expecting the same from the U.S. squad once again. Though its always fun to see Spain's young point guard, Ricky Rubio, a future NBA prospect play.
