although this may seem pointless i would like to let people know how to type my screen name using only the keyboard,

Type a capital A, easy, next hold the Alt key at the same time (while num lock is one) type 0 then 1 then 7 then 8 using the keypad on the keyboard (on the right with the plus key and the /, *, - etc), release alt and the ² symbol should appear

Check out the "Charicter Map" in Windows. Start> Programs> Accesssories> System>Charicter Map. It varies from 95 to LH.

you can get the shortcut from the character map built into windows, go to the start menu under accessories then system tools, then select a character and in the bottom right hand corner it should say keystroke then ALT+(number goes here)

I actually have a ² key on my keyboard (French standard board), so it's pretty easy for me to write A² whistle
